Community Outreach Intiatives

Horticulture Therapy is good for the heart, reduces stress, helps anxiety and depression, and gifts a great sense of accomplishment to the individual(s) who plant seeds, and nurture them from sow to harvest. Our Certified Master Gardener is ready to serve you!  Here is what we offer:

Free To Grow: Sowing Seeds of Hope

Twice yearly, Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter we will host Community Workshops to bring awareness to Food Insecurity while also offering hands-on activities to support your desire of growing healthy food in your spaces. We bring the seeds, you bring the need! These will be free events and all materials will be provided. These workshops will be a fun way to fellowship with other like-minded people within our community, while we work together to end food deserts. Check our events page often to see our next event and reserve your spot!

Additionally, as part of our Free To Grow mission, Our MG will meet with you and your team to design a productive garden space based on your vision. We will discuss overall budget for all materials needed. Bethany's Freedom Garden of Wellness will provide your seeds, seed starting trays and seed starting soil. We will provide you with eight (8) follow-up meetings for continued guidance through the gardening process. This includes:

  • Seedling transplant into permanent garden space, bed or containers.

  • Educate on adequate watering techniques for healthy crops.

  • Educate on proper fertilizing, including when to do so.

  • How and when to harvest crops correctly for prolific production.

  • Organic pest control and tips.

  • How to properly cure crops for long term storage.

This program is free as part of our Community Outreach. Donations to the mission are appreciated but not necessary. Send us an email requesting a consultation, and include the point person's contact information!

Garden-To-Table

Starting in Summer 2025, and seasonally thereafter, we will host a Garden-to-Table experience open to the community. As the earth awakens in the Spring, as the Summer sun shines and at the turn of Fall. These events will incorporate demonstrations of how to prepare a complete meal from the garden using only the beautiful in-season crops we have organically grown and sustainably harvested. These gatherings are an opportunity for you to taste homegrown produce, fellowship with the community and learn to holistically tweak your lives to ensure quality and quantity!

Dates will always be announced well in advance.

***These events are donation optional, but not required to attend.

Herbology Ministry

Coming 2025

Herbology is the practice of referencing and using nature to create remedies, recipes and therapeutic preparations. Medicinal plants, flowers and roots have been used for hundred of years to aid in holistic health. In this program, we educate on how to incorporate medicinal herbs, flowers and roots into your life, safely. Once monthly, our class will meet to discuss the Herb of the Month, its medicinal benefits, how it can be homegrown, harvested, dried and properly stored for long term enjoyment and the many ways it can be prepared for use. This  interactive class will be both fun and extremely educational! Every participant (registered in advance) will leave with an herb/flower/root seedling to grow at home!

Each class is 90 minutes.

The fee for this class will be $15. This fee covers all learning materials, participant seedlings and growing mediums.

**Dates and Times will be announced
